When you make a donation to the Menlo Park-Atherton Education Foundation, we collect your name and address and email and/or phone number so we may send you a tax receipt. We also mail and/or email our past donors annually to ask them to renew their support. Supporters who make a pledge to the MPAEF will receive email reminders to fulfill their pledges as the due date arrives and we will call supporters who made a pledge that is late to encourage them to fulfill the pledge. Our newsletter is emailed regularly to donors using the email addresses we have for them. We honor requests to opt out of solicitations, and we receive opt out requests by email, phone (650-325-0100) or letter (PO Box 584 Menlo Park CA 94026). Your personal information will not be collected for use that is in violation of the law.
It is not the MPAEF’s policy to disclose, sell or rent information about our donors with any individuals, business, or government entity except: if legally required to do so; or, by request of the donor. We use the information we collect to fulfill requests by our donors, such as following up on a pledge; or to inform and solicit our donors.
The MPAEF is led by parents of the Menlo Park City School District, so our fellow parents are the donor base of the MPAEF. We wish to do the right thing for our community. Our parent volunteer Board members sign a Confidentiality Agreement annually. The names of our parent volunteer Board members are on our web site.
We proudly display our Donor Roll with the name and donor category of donors who have not requested to be anonymous. We ask all donors to contact us about any Donor Roll errors and to let us know at any time of the wish to become anonymous.
The information we collect about our donors is stored and managed on the servers of our LiveImpact donor platform. The LiveImpact platform runs on Amazon Web Servers and the platform is designed so that data is encrypted both on the platform and during transmission.
Please understand that when you disclose information online it cannot be made one hundred percent secure, and in some cases that information can be intercepted, collected and used by others. However we work hard to protect the information about our donors at all times, and your information is protected in several ways. Your information is stored on the secure servers that are operated by our donor management system vendor (LiveImpact), and its authorized personnel can only access it with a password. The vendor agreement with LiveImpact includes nondisclosure agreement. Our office personnel can only access this information with a password. Our office personnel sign a nondisclosure agreement and their names are on our web site.
